    Whither Workforce Analytics?

Business and HR Leaders must be thinking differently in 2013.

Join us and Steve McElfresh for a "fresh" and strategic look at a very important topic.  Does your company have a competitive advantage with talent strategies that makes the most of the OVERWHELMING data available?

The field of HR metrics/analytics has been subject to decades of research, innovative programs, and how could so much thinking, technology and hard work result in such modest results?  What can we learn from the progress -- and lack thereof -- in HR metrics/analytics?  Lack of knowledge, resources and skills certainly play a role.  But as important - and much more actionable -is addressing some of the core assumptions and thinking styles common in HR.

    In our program we will:

    • Anticipate the explosive growth (present and, especially, coming) in people-related data, and the potential value for forward-thinking HR organizations.
    • Understand the barriers that exist within HR that prevent leveraging this data to improve productivity.
    • Identify the cultural assumptions and thinking styles within HR that comprise some of these barriers
    • Increase by exploring simple examples of what can happen when these barriers are breached
    • Learn (and brainstorm additional) mechanisms to address these assumptions and styles

    Our Presenter, Steve McElfresh:

VP of People Ops at New Relic, Steve McElfresh, has been the CEO of two management consulting organizations, Chief HR Officer for other three technology companies, and a university professor. He has a JD, a PhD in social/organizational psychology, and holds a SPHR certification from the Society of HR Management.

Steve was a charter member of SHRM's National Expertise Panel on HR Metrics and Measurement, and is past-president of the Bay Area HR Executives Council. He makes presentations to professional and executive groups around the country and around the world (including the UK, Portugal, Singapore, Egypt, India, and the Middle East)
