Our Mission: As the premier bay area association for HR Executives, we create unique networking and professional development opportunities for strategic HR leaders.
Our History: The Bay Area Human Resource Executives Council, an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, was founded in 1980 and at that time was known as ASPA South Bay Chapter.
We later changed our name to BAHREC (Bay Area Human Resource Executives Council) to meet the development needs of senior human resource professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, although our membership has grown and evolved to meet ever-changing business needs, we remain true to our original mission.

We invite qualified potential members to apply for membership. The first step is to complete a membership application, which may be downloaded along with instructions from the menu bar on the left hand side of the About Us page.
BAHREC is an affiliated chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, and has earned Superior Merit Chapter designation for the past several years. While we encourage and promote SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) national membership, it is not a requirement for membership in BAHREC.
